Turn These Five formulas for Failure into Powerful Keys for Success

Just about everyone wants to have more success in business and in life. The desire to be all we can be and feel fully alive is healthy. But in this eagerness to create a good life, many of us miss the mark by unknowingly falling prey to some common formulas for failure rather than grasping proven keys for success.

The fact is that most of us are taught how to be good employees, not how to create tremendously joyful and fulfilling lives. But now more and more people are waking up to the desire to do something special, to be something special, and make a real difference in the world.

How can you avoid the plight of the uninformed?

Take your future in your own hands, as you are doing now. And the easiest path to follow is in the footsteps of those who have gone where you want to go.
To follow in the footsteps of highly successful people, here are five crucial mistakes to avoid and the related keys for success.

Five formulas for Failure and Keys for Success

1. Working harder, instead of smarter.
This is all part of “herd thinking.” You see, most of us were taught to set our sights on a steady job with health insurance and a good retirement plan. This is less and less likely to occur and even less likely to be fulfilling. Most employees are finding themselves working extra hours and extra jobs just to make ends meet.

If you want to create a truly fantastic life, you have to work smarter. Get out of that herd thinking. To produce different results, you must do things differently. And if you do your research, you’ll find that working smarter means you can earn more by working less.

2. Waiting for the perfect time.
When you ask people when they think they plan to do the things they really want with their lives, the usual answer comes in the form of a vague reference to a time somewhere out in the future.

If you’re paying attention, you may have noticed that that perfect time never comes. The only time you have is now. Opportunity, if you haven’t heard, may only knock once. The fact that you’re reading this means opportunity is at your door now. The key is to grab it and don’t let it go. Make this your time.

3. Groping blindly in the dark.
You are the creator of your life. If you don’t have a clear picture of what you want to create, how can you expect to get where you want to go?

So get a clear picture of where you are going and what life is going to look like when you get there. Set your eyes on the prize. Keep your brightest possible future in front of you every day and notice how your life starts to change.
4. Giving up.
If you are doing what you are here to do, the things that make you feel alive and give life meaning, giving up is not an option. Many highly successful people say that the main key to their success is that they kept playing the game long after the people around them quit.

The people who succeed are the ones who persevere. Continue to take steps towards your goals. It doesn’t matter how small these steps may be as long as you’re moving forward. You may be surprised to find that even a small adjustment in your course becomes a large change over time.

5. Forgetting that you are in control.
You may have noticed that most people live their lives perceiving themselves as victims of the economy, their families, their jobs, one of the political parties, or the like.

As suggested throughout this article, the truth is that you are the creator of your life and the only person who can live it is you. Who knows, your brightest possible future may already be within reach. In fact, if you start to live it now in small ways, the picture will come more and more into focus until you can look back with amazement at what you have created.
